The acquisition service
The acquisition service is responsible for the acquisition process, from the initial selection of books to their reception and cataloging. In this context, the role of this service is to track trends in literary and editorial production by continuously reviewing new publications offered by publishers that will serve the current and future specialties of the university. It develops lists of books to be acquired each year through a selection committee, reviews reader requests, and systematically manages the recording and cataloging of new acquisitions.
Therefore, this service is responsible for:

Inventorying and labeling all library acquisitions (books, journals, encyclopedias, etc.) with an official inventory seal from the central library.
Developing lists of book titles to be acquired.
Receiving acquired documents and monitoring them in accordance with specifications or tender conditions.
Assigning inventory numbers to books based on the invoice and acquisition date.
Receiving book donations.
Restoring and binding damaged books, especially those that are rare.
