The central library of L’Arabi Ben M’hidi University:
The central library (B.U.C.) and faculty libraries are organized to support users in their documentary research, whether local or remote (via the Internet); by providing them with a multidisciplinary and multilingual documentary collection developed to cover all the courses offered by the university.
In short, they constitute a powerful educational tool that follows the evolution of new information and communication technologies. The documents of the B.U.C. are equipped with RFID tags, which allow both identification, management of document communication transactions and their security.
The documentary collection is accessible through computerized catalogs, organized by types of documents:
- Books; reference books;
- Braille documents in disciplines pursued by visually impaired students (Law [Arabic/French], Sociology, Psychology [Arabic/French], Literature, French Literature, English Literature);
- Academic works (theses, dissertations, master’s theses, in both paper and electronic versions with full text). For older theses, an electronic database is currently being developed.
- Intellectual production of university professors;
- Electronic resources;
- Bundles of electronic journals SNDL, ASJP, DSpace, IQRAA……
- Databases of audiovisual documents (DVDs, CD ROMs).
