
Larbi Ben M’hidi University – Oum El Bouaghi informs all higher education staff that, following the correspondence from the Directorate of University Cooperation and Exchange at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (No. 1639/D.C.E.U/SDMEP/2026), applications are now open for a training program under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) framework, launched by the Government of the Republic of India.
Training Title: Statistical Theory and Applications
Training Period: From September 01, 2026, to June 30, 2027
Training Program Stages (Over 4 Stages)
- Stage 1 (September – December) — Preparatory (4 months):Dedicated to reviewing core fundamentals and essential subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Descriptive Statistics
- Data Processing I
- Probability
- Economic Statistics I
- Sample Survey I
- Statistical Methods I
- Stage 2 (January – Mid-March):Covers the following subjects:
- Demography
- Statistical Method II
- Sample Survey II
- Data Processing II
- Economic Statistics II
- Stage 3 (Mid-March – Mid-April) — Field Training:Official statistics training supervised by the CSO (Central Statistics Office) and other Indian government institutions (partially organized in New Delhi), covering diverse topics such as:
- Agricultural statistics, capital formation, and index numbers of prices.
- Social statistics, balance of payments statistics, and public finance statistics.
- National income statistics, transport statistics, and money and banking statistics.
- Wholesale and retail sales statistics, population and vital statistics.
- Education and cultural statistics, foreign trade statistics, and industrial statistics.
- Stage 4 (Mid-April – Mid-June) — Specialization:Trainees select one specialization from the following fields:
- Statistical Data Analysis
- Applied Sample Surveys
- Price Statistics
- System of National Accounts
- Economic Development
- Time Series Analysis
- Vital Statistics & Demography
