Comprehensive Overview

The International English Language Olympiad (ELO-UNI) is considered the most important and largest event of its kind globally. This educational activity aims to advance English language skills, promote the use of modern learning theories and scientific research methods, and acquire teamwork and community service skills. The Olympiad will be held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 17 to December 19, 2026, with an expected participation of 1,500 students from 40 countries.

Olympiad Axes and Objectives

The Olympiad focuses on several key areas: scientific research projects, community service, theatrical performance, teamwork, and English language testing. The event aims to activate the spontaneous and automatic use of the English language in a real-world context, develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills among participants, and produce recommendations and policy papers that support Sustainable Development Goals.

Participation and Organization Conditions

• Team: The team consists of 5 students (aged 18–24) in addition to one coach/supervisor.
• Costs: Participating teams are responsible for travel tickets, accommodation, and the established registration fee (1,000 Dinars).
• What the Administration Provides: The Olympiad administration provides the coach’s uniform, lunch meals, work tools, and material prizes for the teams.
• Judging: Team performance is evaluated by impartial, specialized judging committees from various countries according to pre-announced criteria.

Registration Dates: Team registration begins on March 1, 2026, and the final deadline for submitting applications is October 17, 2026.
