Policy for Adherence to Energy Efficiency Standards in New Buildings

The University of Oum El Bouaghi places strong emphasis on sustainability and the preservation of natural resources to foster a healthy and environmentally responsible learning environment.

Objectives:

  • Ensure that all new buildings are designed and constructed according to the highest energy efficiency standards and incorporate modern environmental technologies.
  • Promote the integration of renewable energy sources and energy-saving systems in the planning and construction of new university facilities.
  • Raise awareness among staff and students through sensitization campaigns and educational programs about energy use, conservation, and sustainable practices.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of newly constructed buildings to maintain compliance with energy efficiency standards.

Principles:

  • Sustainable Design and Construction: The University follows “green design” principles and sustainable infrastructure standards, employing eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems in new constructions.
  • Renewable Energy Use: Whenever possible, the University integrates renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power into the design of new facilities.
  • Energy-Saving Technologies: The University adopts advanced technologies such as LED lighting and smart temperature control systems to reduce electricity and heat consumption.
