Women’s Mentoring Schemes Participation
- Breast Cancer Awareness and Counseling Program
The University of Oum El Bouaghi annually conducts awareness campaigns throughout the month of October, known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to educate women about the risk factors for breast cancer and the vitality of early detection. In this regard, the participation of female students greatly exceeds 10%. An example of such an initiative is as follows
On Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, the Public Institution of Primary Health Care in Oum El Bouaghi and the Directorate of Social Activity and Solidarity of the province, in coordination with the University of Larbi Ben M’hidi—through the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities—organized an awareness day on breast cancer on the occasion of Pink October at the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
The campaign included the distribution of leaflets and brochures, along with a detailed explanation of the disease, its causes, symptoms, and the method of self-examination, presented by public health midwives and doctors, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the faculty’s Secretary-General.
- Diabetes Awareness and Counseling Program
In commemoration of World Diabetes Day, observed on November 14th every year, the Sub-Directorate of Activities at the University of Oum El Bouaghi, through the Bioart Club, organizes an awareness day in coordination with the Social Medical Center located adjacent to the central library.
