Scientific Description of The Team’s Research Program
The research work of our team concerns the synthesis of amine-based nitrogen compounds according to a mixed condensation reaction of two aliphatic and/or aromatic amines with Formalin (An Asymmetric Synthesis of Hyxahydrotriazines). The products resulting from the reaction will be separated from the reaction mixture by extraction with a solvent not missible with water. After Drying with a Desiccant and Evaporation agent, leave to rest (upon standing) the Oily Product obtained transforms into a pure crystalline solid compound. To carry out a good structural study by X-ray diffraction, it is necessary to have good crystals which can be obtained by carrying out different recrystallization tests using different solvent systems. The various structural studies carried out allowed the structural identification of certain substituted hexahydrotriazines. The characterization of the compounds synthesized by the usual spectroscopic analysis methods is carried out in most cases with difficulty. Regarding reactivity, an acid-base reaction is proposed between a weak base which characterizes these amine-based compounds and a strong acid with the aim of obtaining stable salts. The anti-corrosive study of such amine-based compounds is a very interesting area for our team that remains to be carried out.
