The sustainable development and environmental protection laboratory consists of 4 teams whose work covers many aspects inherent in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. The treatment of water by new techniques, the use of solar energy, photocatalysis, the recovery of local materials and industrial waste, the problems of climate change, as well as the management and mobilization of water resources, constitute key elements for the sustainable development of the industry of the future. These themes are addressed within the laboratory through major areas of research such as climate change and variability, water resource management, water and air purification, solar desalination, recovery of industrial waste, exploration of new method of improving the quality and cost of bitumen.
