Research focus: Valorization of local materials and industrial waste in road construction
Goals :
Starting from the observation that the road is expensive for various reasons and in particular the high price of bitumen or the shortage of aggregates in certain regions of the country (the south). The abundance of dune sand, the need to get rid of industrial waste (example: used tires) and the fact that the roads are different by their destination and by the different layers that compose them, will lead us to propose a panoply of solutions.
We will study different solutions for the different layers of new roads.
We have two major areas of research: poured (and self-compacting) concrete and compacted concrete.
This research theme has for perspective the use of this type of concrete in road tracks, especially in the great Algerian Sahara.
