University Efforts in Ecosystem and Biodiversity Conservation
- Tree Planting Campaigns for Environmental Conservation
- Participation in the National Tree Planting Campaign under the slogan “Plant it…”: Pr. Zohir Dibi, the university’s director, oversaw the initiative. The event included the director of the girls’ university residence in Ain El Beida and a representative from the Forest Department in Ain El Beida. The tree planting process encompassed the university residence’s inner and outer areas under the supervision of the Department of Forests in the Wilaya of Oum El Bouaghi.

National Tree Planting Campaign under the slogan “A Tree for Every Citizen”: The University of Arabi Ben Mhidi organized a tree planting campaign in coordination with the Forest Department in collaboration with the Fishermen’s Association in Ain M’lila. The campaign occurred at the Institute of Sciences and Applied Sciences in Ain M’lila and involved planting 60 shrubs. Those participating in the campaign included Dr. Zohir Dibi, the university’s director, the forest governor, the institute’s director, the director of the sub-directorate of cultural, scientific, and sports activities, and the institute’s students and staff.

- Field Trips for Environmental Conservation
On World Wetlands Day, the University of Arabi Ben Mhidi, coordinating with the Environmental Department in Oum El Bouaghi, organized a scientific field trip to Lake Ourkis in Ain Fakroun. The trip was intended for students in scientific clubs under the sub-directorate of cultural, scientific, and sports activities, including the Bio Art Club and Green Eco Star Club. The province governor attended the event, the provincial people’s council president, the forest governor, and primary school students. During the field trip, participants learned about the area’s nature, grasped key biodiversity concepts, and contributed to a substantial tree-planting campaign near the lake.
