Policy on Access and Participation for Female Students
The University of Oum El Bouaghi upholds the principle of gender equality in rights, as stipulated by the Algerian Constitution, which enshrines gender equality in many of its articles. This principle is in alignment with international commitments made by Algeria, as well as the specific legal provisions regarding free education in Algeria. This policy aims to promote the participation of female students in all academic disciplines and at all academic levels, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. It is based on a set of principles, including:
- Promoting the enrollment of female students: The policy mandates the promotion of the enrollment and acceptance of female students in the three academic levels: bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral.
- Providing scholarships for female students: Special scholarships are provided to alleviate the financial burden on female students, similar to male students.
- Promoting gender equality: Regular awareness campaigns highlight the importance of gender equality in higher education.
- Organizing cultural and scientific activities: A variety of cultural and scientific activities are organized to help female students develop their skills.
- Academic support programs: Academic guidance and support programs are provided to ensure the success of female students in their studies.
- Data and report monitoring: Data related to the enrollment and acceptance of female students are collected and analyzed, and periodic reports are destined for the regional conference and the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Community collaboration: Collaboration with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of higher education for women and encourage more female students to join the university.
- Participation of Female Students in all Scientific and Cultural Events
In accordance with the Access and Participation policy, female students have actively participated in all scientific and cultural activities organized by the University of Oum El Bouaghi. Their representation has been highly positive, and they have made a significant contribution to the success of these events. The evidence includes:

Participation in the Peace Club for martial arts.
