Participation in Scientific, Artistic, and Cultural Events and Activities
Representing the Governor of the province, the Director of the Local Administration for the province of Oum El Bouaghi, together with the University President, Professor DIBI Zohir, presidedover the opening ceremony of the academic year, on September 17, 2022, at the University’s main lecture hall. The event was attended by the provincial civil and military authorities and the university community at various levels. The ceremony included an opening lecture titled “Is the University Responsible for Future Generations?” presented by Pr. Lamri Abdelwahab. On this occasion, a partnership and cooperation agreement were signed between the university and the Directorate of Industry for the province of Oum El Bouaghi. Additionally, a video presentation highlighted the most significant scientific, cultural, and sports achievements during the 2021-2022 academic year. The opening ceremony was also an opportunity to honor 35 academics who were promoted to the rank of Higher Education Professor during the 46th and 47th sessions of the National Scientific Committee, held in December 2021 and July 2022. The event concluded with a collective gathering of the university community and their distinguished guests.
- Participation in the Closing Ceremony of the Academic Year:
On July 5th, in the context of commemorating the 61st anniversary of independence and Youth Day, and
the reclamation of national sovereignty, the Governor of the province, together with the University President, Professor. DIBI Zohir presided over an official ceremony. This event was attended by the provincial civil and military authorities and the university community, including students, academics, and staff. The ceremony featured special acknowledgments to revolutionary figures in the province on the occasion of the glorious Independence Day, along with the honoring of the top-performing students in various disciplines, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, totaling 50 university students. An informative report titled “Larbi Ben M’hidi University: Excellence and Success” showcased outstanding students at the university. To emphasize international cooperation and support for foreign students in Algerian universities, the University of Oum el Bouaghi honored the representative of international students, Mr. Dah Abass, from the sister country of Mauritania. The ceremony also recognized students with top-ranked projects at the university, following the Ministry of Higher Education’s guidelines for obtaining a graduation memorandum, related to establishing an innovative institution or a patent marked with: “Artificial Intelligence-Based Drug Recognition Platform.” This project originated from the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Natural Sciences, Department of Sports and Computer Science. The ceremony featured a historical national theater performance by members of the cultural club “Cine-Thea” titled “The Price of Freedom.” The event concluded with a group photo of the university community and their guests.
