Professors’ participation as policymakers to eradicate poverty

Professors from the University of Oum El Bouaghi have actively participated as experts and consultants in national programs aimed at eliminating poverty in all its dimensions. For example:

  • Dr. Toufik Mazouz, the Director of the University’s Business Incubator, participated in a meeting dedicated to studying the mechanisms of supporting and accompanying emerging institutions and innovative projects approved by the ministry concerned with managing local, public facilities, especially those belonging to local communities and urban planning. This meeting was chaired by the governor Mr Samir Nafla; it took place at the headquarters of the Wilaya in the presence of the executive directors, the head of the Bureau, representatives of emerging enterprises, the directors of emerging enterprises, holders of approved innovative projects, head of the State Agency for promoting investment, the director of the small and medium-sized enterprises, the director of the support and consultancy centre for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the head of the National Agency for the Promotion and Development of Entrepreneurship.

Professors from the Faculty of Economics have actively participated in various local, national, and international television and radio programmes aimed at eradicating poverty. Prominent experts in this regard include Pr. Zoubeir Ayache, Pr. Serarma Abdelouahid, Pr. Mourad Kouachi, Dr. Chaouki Merdaci, etc.
