{"id":13047,"date":"2026-08-28T19:03:47","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T18:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/?p=13047"},"modified":"2026-08-28T19:03:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T18:03:49","slug":"arab-girl-prize-for-technology-and-innovation-2026-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/en\/2026\/13047\/","title":{"rendered":"Arab Girl Prize for Technology and Innovation (2026 Edition)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"682\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ofc-en--682x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13048\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ofc-en--682x1024.jpeg 682w, https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ofc-en--200x300.jpeg 200w, https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ofc-en--768x1153.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/vrlex\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ofc-en-.jpeg 842w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of enhancing the pioneering role of girls in the fields of information and communication technology, and in activation of the cooperation between the <strong>Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research<\/strong>, <strong>the Arab Women Organization, and the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family, and Women&#8217;s Issues, Universit\u00e9 Larbi Ben M&#8217;hidi &#8211; Oum El Bouaghi<\/strong>, represented by the <strong>Vice-Rectorate for External Relations, Cooperation, Animation, Communication, and Scientific Events<\/strong>, announces the opening of registration and candidacy for the new edition of the Arab Girl Prize for Technology and Innovation for the year 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prize targets innovative girls aged 8 to 24 to encourage them to enter the field of technology and digital innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The objectives of the prize include:<\/strong> Encouraging Arab girls to specialize and engage in the fields of information and communication technology, empowering them to develop digital solutions that serve women&#8217;s and community issues, and supporting creativity and digital innovation among Arab girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prize Themes: The themes of the prize vary across its different editions. Regarding its theme for this year, the requirement is to submit an (electronic awareness campaign) or an (innovative application\/website) that addresses one of the issues related to the prize themes, provided that the submitted work contributes to women&#8217;s empowerment or serves the Arab community through the use of technological tools and applications to solve a real problem affecting women in the Arab region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The prize themes include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Cybersecurity and digital safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Using artificial intelligence to serve the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Digital skills and future jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Combating violence against women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Preserving the environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Psychological support for girls and women. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Digital literacy and education issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Women&#8217;s economic empowerment using applications and websites to buy and sell products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The prize targets three age categories:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> First age category: <\/strong>8 to 11 years old. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Second age category: <\/strong>12 to 17 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> Third age category:<\/strong> 18 to 24 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for applying to the two branches of the prize: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First: <\/strong>For the electronic awareness campaign: The campaign must focus on raising awareness about a women&#8217;s social issue within the prize themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The submission must include:<\/strong> a concept note about the campaign in PDF format, an introductory video of the applicant and the campaign, a promotional awareness video, an impact measurement explanation, and links to published content. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second: For applied digital innovation (application\/website\/robot): It must address one of the women&#8217;s social issues using technological tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The submission must include a concept note about the innovation, an introductory video, a demo video of the work, a prototype or pictures of the interfaces, and a paper explaining the workflow and scalability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Conditions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Application is open to girls in the aforementioned age categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Application is open to Arab countries members of the organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 The work must be submitted individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 The work must be original, innovative, and has not won previous awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 In case of submitting two original works, each will be evaluated separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criteria for evaluating submitted works: The work must demonstrate: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 A high degree of innovation in the presented idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 A clear community impact serving women and community issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2013 Technical quality in the design and implementation of the technological solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 An organized and clear presentation of the idea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Scalability and sustainability after project implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prizes<\/strong>: The organization awards 10 main prizes distributed as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1- Awareness campaigns:<\/strong> One prize for the first category, two prizes for the second category, two prizes for the third category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2- Digital innovation: <\/strong>One prize for the first category, two prizes for the second category, two prizes for the third category.
