Conference Preamble :
Since the invention of the bicycle in 1817 by the German baron Karl von Drais, it has spread everyplace on public roads to overcome the difficulties of transportation and has maintained its status even after the development of other means of transport due to its effectiveness in crowded places and its preservation of the environment and health, which has made it beloved by many politicians, scientists, doctors, and engineers.Cycling races began as local challenges on short tracks, with a 1200-meter race in Paris on May 31, 1868, and quickly evolved into a professional sport organized internationally, thanks to advancements in bicycle manufacturing technology and efforts to organize official competitions that allocated substantial financial resources to support and nurture players, ensuring their sustainability in this demanding sport that requires high physical, mental, and psychological endurance, long training hours, and the provision of necessary tools and equipment. In recent years, technological advancement has cast its shadow over all fields, especially sports, thru numerous devices and equipment, social networks, fitness tracking applications, performance and competition analysis, data analysis software, competition management programs, and artificial intelligence applications, including simulation systems and virtual reality. Etc.This tremendous development has resulted in a technological gap between advanced societies and their underdeveloped counterparts. To bridge this gap, it is essential to combine the efforts of practitioners and academics in the fields of sports and technology to create and develop local technology that contributes to fair international competition while maintaining the principles of privacy and security. Therefore, we decided to organize this national forum on the sidelines of the Arab University of Ben Mehidi Cycling Championship, which is organized by our university, and the Macomadas Cycling Championship, to benefit from the combination of academic scientific research and practical field experiences to acquire the necessary knowledge to give a new boost to Algerian cycling to keep pace with global developments.
