Vice-Dean in Charge of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations

     The Vice-Deanate in Charge of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations is considered one of the fundamental pillars in the organizational structure of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Oum El Bouaghi, due to its strategic responsibilities that lie at the heart of higher education and scientific research.

     It serves as a vital link between various academic stakeholders, including students, professors, research laboratories, and departments. It ensures the quality of third-cycle education, fosters the dynamics of scientific research, and promotes openness to national and international cooperation, which grants it a central role in achieving the faculty’s objectives and enhancing its scientific and institutional influence.

1. Duties of the Vice-Deanate in Charge of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations:

  • Organizing postgraduate admission competitions, monitoring the progress of exams, and ensuring maximum transparency and credibility in the competition process.
  • Monitoring the registration and training of postgraduate students and accompanying them from the announcement of PhD competition results until the defense of their theses.
  • Overseeing the process of thesis and dissertation defenses for postgraduate studies (Doctorate of Science / PhD LMD).
  • Taking or proposing necessary measures to ensure the smooth running of postgraduate training.
  • Managing scientific research activities.
  • Initiating actions to stimulate and support cooperation between national and international universities.
  • Implementing programs to improve and update the knowledge of faculty members.
  • Monitoring the functioning of the faculty’s scientific council and preserving its archives.

2. Services Under the Vice-Deanate in Charge of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations:

  • Implementing programs for enhancing and updating the knowledge of faculty members.
  • Monitoring the progress of scientific research activities.
  • Following up on the work of the faculty’s scientific council.

⇒ Postgraduate Training Monitoring Service:

  • Initiating partnerships with social and economic sectors.
  • Initiating actions to promote and support cooperation between national and international universities.

⇒ Cooperation and External Relations Service:

  • Organizing postgraduate admission competitions.

  • Monitoring the progress of postgraduate entrance exams.

  • Taking or proposing necessary measures to ensure the smooth running of postgraduate training.

  • Supervising the process of thesis and dissertation defenses.

     Through its various departments and research laboratories, the Vice-Deanate continues to strive for academic excellence and to foster a culture of innovation and scientific exchange, ensuring the faculty’s active contribution to knowledge development and societal progress.

Dr. Oualid Abdelli

     Dr. Oualid Abdelli is a researcher and university lecturer in sociology at the Department of Social Sciences, Larbi Ben M’hidi University – Oum El Bouaghi. He currently holds the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty, in charge of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations.

     He possesses extensive academic and pedagogical experience and holds a Doctorate of Science in Sociology of Organization and Work from the University of Batna. In addition, he has obtained several other qualifications, including the Certificate of Professional Competence in Law Practice. Dr. Abdelli is recognized as an active scientific figure in his field, having supervised numerous graduation theses (Master’s and Doctorate), participated in dozens of national and international conferences, and contributed significantly to peer-reviewed academic journals.

     He previously served as the Head of the Department of Social Sciences and has played a prominent role in organizing and coordinating scientific and cultural activities both within and outside the university. His scientific projects focus on issues of social transformations and contemporary sociological approaches. He is committed to connecting scientific research with societal issues and believes in the university’s role in knowledge production and the promotion of critical thinking.

     Furthermore, he strives to contribute to the development of higher education and research. He has held memberships in several scientific bodies, including the Scientific Committee of the Department and the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. He is also a member of the research laboratory “Social Dynamics in the Aurès.”

     Through his research and academic initiatives, Dr. Oualid Abdelli contributes to enhancing the quality of higher education and promoting strategic development practices, as part of his active efforts to advance the educational and scientific research system in Algeria and the Arab world.
