{"id":8867,"date":"2026-11-04T11:13:07","date_gmt":"2026-11-04T08:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/SDG\/?page_id=8867"},"modified":"2026-11-04T11:13:08","modified_gmt":"2026-11-04T08:13:08","slug":"university-plans-for-upgrading-buildings-to-higher-energy-efficiency-standards-3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.univ-oeb.dz\/SDG\/university-plans-for-upgrading-buildings-to-higher-energy-efficiency-standards-3\/","title":{"rendered":"University Plans for Upgrading Buildings to Higher Energy Efficiency Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plan for Upgrading Old Buildings at the University<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Oum El Bouaghi has restructured its older buildings at several levels, including improvements in energy efficiency, through the following stages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 1: Evaluation and Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Assess the university\u2019s older buildings to establish current energy consumption and identify the primary opportunities for improvement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyze the costs and benefits of upgrading to energy-efficient lighting, and estimate the expected energy savings and required expenditure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 2: Planning and Design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a detailed lighting upgrade plan for older buildings, aligned with agreed timelines and financial budgets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secure the energy-efficient lighting and equipment required for installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 3: Implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Install energy-efficient lighting, associated systems, and controls across the buildings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Train staff in the use of the new lighting and in efficient lighting control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 4: Control and Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor energy consumption after installation of the new lighting and quantify the actual energy savings achieved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess the impact of the sustainability measures on the environment, the budget, and user comfort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 5: Awareness and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Run awareness campaigns on energy saving and efficient lighting use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Produce regular written reports on the progress of the plans and the savings achieved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stage 6: Continuous Improvement and Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct regular performance assessments of lighting and related systems to sustain efficiency gains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop additional strategies to further improve energy efficiency across university buildings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This plan uses the transition to energy-efficient lighting as a model for improving energy efficiency in the older buildings of the University of Oum El Bouaghi.
