This research reflects society&#8217;s growing concern about the unprecedented erosion of biodiversity.<br \/>The team is developing fundamental research to understand how avifaunal biodiversity and the complexity of food webs regulate the flow of materials in the ecosystem. It also offers applications of its results in the form of bioindication tools for the functional integrity of ecosystems and bioremediation techniques.<br \/>The vocation of the team is to study the relationship between birds and functioning in a wide variety of aquatic and terrestrial systems in order to test the generality of the discoveries resulting from pioneering studies carried out most often in terrestrial ecosystems and to develop new theories specific to aquatic environments considering biodiversity as a cause and a consequence<br \/>The different major themes of the team, namely:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0a7 Provide a well-detailed list of avifaunal species (birds) and identification of the status of these species which will be used in the creation of a management plan for threatened, vulnerable and endangered species.<br \/>\uf0a7 The installation of a map of avifaunal biodiversity of wetlands in arid and semi-arid regions of Algeria, indicating hot spots.<br \/>\uf0a7 The conservation of ecosystems (lakes, chott, sebkhas, etc.) in the arid and semi-arid regions of Algeria.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0a7 The development of management plans for the sites studied for sustainable conservation.<br \/>\uf0a7 The integration of bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s students in environmental sciences into research programs.<br \/>\uf0a7 Publication of the results obtained in known journals.<br \/>\uf0a7 The creation of a database of this fauna at the department of natural and life sciences (MOHAMED Boudiaf University of M&#8217;sila) which will be available to students, Algerian researchers and other sectors .<br \/>Research focuses on the study of relationships between the avifaunal biodiversity of a compartment or a network of compartments linked by trophic interactions and the functioning of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
