Program name Bachelor’s degree in Parasitologie
Department of natural and life sciences
Program name: Bachelor’s degree in Parasitologie
- Level: Bachelor
- Domain: Natural and life sciences
- Field: Biological sciences
- Specialty: Parasitology
- Program Description:
This speciality proposes a fundamental teaching. This will allow students currently at the end of the “Parasitology” licence cycle to continue their training in the second course of the LMD system and with the aim of pursuing research studies to obtain a doctorate.1- Possibility of creating a group analysis laboratory, of opening private offices of extension and public prophylaxis.2- Possibility of professional activities in specialised structures (veterinary laboratories, slaughterhouses, hospital laboratories, research centres, industrial food processing units.
Entry Requirements
To approach the fields of this speciality, theoretical and practical knowledge in Biological Sciences (Biology and Anomalous Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology) (L1 and L2 SNV) is required. They must be accompanied by basic knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, physics and biophysics (L1 and L2 SNV), which are necessary for any subsequent study in Biology.

The Parasitology license introduces students to the fields of General Parasitology (Parasitology in the broadest sense) by means of fundamental, theoretical and practical knowledge. The teaching programme is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of parasitism and host-pathogen relations and the different parasite groups (microparasites: bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasitic protozoa and macroparasites: metazoa (helminths and arthropods) that have an impact on human and animal health. Vector transmission of diseases and parasitic ecology will also be covered.
