Program Description

A/ Conditions for joining the program:

In order to join the Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in accordance with the LMD system specializing in public law, in addition to other criteria, mainly that the candidate does not have a pedagogical delay from the date of obtaining the baccalaureate certificate, except for legally justified cases, in addition to the student not being subjected to disciplinary punishment during his academic path, with the need for scientific conditions related mainly to the rate of ranking and the number of available pedagogical seats.

B/ Program Objectives:

The Master’s program in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development aims to prepare students intellectually to pursue a PhD in Environmental Law, which ends by teaching at the college as a research professor in the legal field or working in many different fields such as the judiciary, law, documentation, judicial bailiffs, joining the security corps, the national gendarmerie and customs after success in the competition conducted at the national level and working for the bodies entrusted with preserving the environment locally, nationally or internationally.

This program also allows for positions in the central or local administration in Algeria, and provides the necessary tools to continue their education or excel in communication in the workplace, thus working on the development of the sector in which they work, which benefits the status of the Algerian state.

C- Targeted Qualifications and Abilities:

This program enables:

• Develop his ability to deal with legal texts by analysis and commentary.

• Dealing with public institutions of an administrative as well as economic nature, judicial and environmental bodies.

• Control scientific research tools and techniques and identify sources of information.

• Enable students to train in the English language within the framework of specialization.

D/ Indications for follow-up configuration:

– The indicators of the follow-up of the project depend mainly on the good training in the four semesters, and there is no doubt that the accurate training that will recruit the best and most efficient professors will provide the student with the most important knowledge, and make his basic training allow him to definitely move to the doctoral stage in the midst of the same specialization, in more accurate and focused subjects in line with the legal, social and economic reality of living.

– In this context, the project is followed up through:

– Scientific forums organized for the benefit of students of specialization by researchers specialized in criminal law.

– Research presented by students in directed work.

– Field trainings to be programmed later in environmental bodies and field outputs to environmental and tourist areas.

The training in the Master of Environmental Law and Sustainable Development includes four hexagons, each of which includes a set of scales divided between basic, exploratory, methodological and horizontal.

1/ First Semester:

• Methodological Education Unit:

– Scientific Research Methodology 1

– Editing petitions.

• Exploratory Education Unit:

– Principles of Environmental Law 1.

– Environment and sustainable development.

• Horizontal Education Unit:

– Foreign language (English).

B/ Second Semester

• Basic Education Unit

– Liability for environmental damage.

– National Property Act.

– Environmental Criminal Code.

• Methodological Education Unit:

– Scientific Research Methodology 2.

– Information and communication technologies.

• Exploratory Education Unit:

– Principles of Environmental Law 2.

– Corruption and work ethics.

• Horizontal Education Unit:

– Foreign language (English).

C/ Third Semester:

• Basic Education Unit

– Environmental administrative control.

– Prevention of risks and disasters

– Environment and Urbanism

• Methodological Education Unit:

– Methodology for preparing a thesis.

– Professional and personal project.

• Exploratory Education Unit:

– Environment and human rights.

– Protection of nature and cultural heritage.

– Foreign language (English).

D / Fourth Semester:

– Forum.

– End of study thesis
